Greatest Hits is a compilation album by American rock band the Doors, released in 1980. The album, along with the film Apocalypse Now, released the previous year, created an entirely new audience which was too young to have remembered the band years before. The album went on to become one of the highest selling compilations of all time, with combined CD and vinyl sales of 5,000,000 in the United States alone.

The Greatest Hits is a greatest hits compilation released by Australian rock band INXS in 1994. The compilation was a chart success in Australia, peaking at number 2 and in the UK, where it reached number 3. It only managed to reach number 112 on the US Billboard 200; however, it was eventually certified platinum. The album included two new songs: "The Strangest Party (These Are the Times)", and "Deliver Me".

A greatest hits album, sometimes called a "best of" album or a catalog album, is a compilation of songs by a particular artist or band. Most often the track list contains previously released recordings with a high degree of notability. At times, a greatest hits compilation is the original album release for songs that have been released as singles and charted successfully. Many of these albums surface despite the unwillingness of original artists to support them, the songwriters being embroiled in fighting record company decisions.

Nevertheless, Greatest Hits lives up to its title and provides a fine introduction to the band.

Greatest Hits is a compilation album by the British rock band Queen, released worldwide on 26 October 1981. The album consisted of Queen's biggest hits since their first chart appearance in 1974 with "Seven Seas of Rhye", up to their 1980 hit "Flash" (though in some countries "Under Pressure", the band's 1981 chart-topper with David Bowie, was included).

Queen’s Greatest Hits is the UK’s biggest selling album of all time – but which song is the greatest? . The oldest track on Queen’s Greatest Hits originally appeared on the band’s self-titled debut album in 1973, as an instrumental, and again on 1974’s Queen II as a fully formed song. As a single it was not a hit, but it’s one of the definitive early Queen songs. 11. You’re My Best Friend. In the 80s John Deacon wrote the huge hits Another One Bites The Dust and I Want To Break Free, but You’re My Best Friend was his first song that was released as a single, in 1976.
