Only 4 left in stock (more on the way). But the live performances on this album are electrifying, and for the same reasons. Furtwangler was a great conductor in the studio, but when you put him in front of a live audience, something astonishing happened.

He is widely regarded as one of the greatest symphonic and operatic conductors of the 20th century. Furtwängler was principal conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic between 1922 and 1945, and from 1952 until 1954.
Composers: Richard Wagner.
These recordings were made in wartorn Berlin by one of the past century's greatest conductors, Wilhelm Furtwangler, who was one of very few international caliber artists who remained in Germany during WWII. Combine Furtwangler's passionate conducting with the sad context of war and you've got an utmost interesting and pertinent package. The Cello Concerto is equally intriguing, as well as Brahms' Piano Concerto.
