Paul Heaton ‎– Acid Country. Label: Proper Records (2) ‎– PRPCD063. Country: UK & Europe. Written-By – Lexus, Heaton. 10. A Cold One In The Fridge.

Acid Country is the third solo album by British artist Paul Heaton, following his debut album (under the guise of Biscuit Boy aka Crackerman) Fat Chance and second solo album as himself, The Cross Eyed Rambler. The album was officially released for download and purchase in the shops on 13 September 2010 and charted at number 51. Heaton had done a UK "pub tour", cycling around various pubs all across the UK performing to promote his new album.

Ever since his chart-topping a cappella days with '80s jangle pop outfit the Housemartins, Yorkshire troubadour Paul Heaton has always appeared more world-weary than his years, a state of mind which has seen him comfortably slip into curmudgeonly middle age on his critically acclaimed but much-ignored noughties' solo career.

This song is by Paul Heaton and appears on the album Acid Country (2010). The Polish beer, the Turkish kebabsEnglish cider, the wickets, the padsThe Bay City Rollers, the movements, the fadsThe local crew, the posse, the lads. The lazy days, the Phoenix NightsThe reds, the blues, the blacks, the whitesThe Southern belles, the Northern lightsThe Bombay mix, the Scampi bites.

Wisdom, Laughter and Lines is the second album by Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott. It was released on 23 October 2015 by Virgin EMI and was produced by long-time collaborator John Owen Williams. The album peaked at no. 4 in the UK Official Album Chart. It was certified Silver by the British Phonographic Industry on 22 January 2016 for sales over 60,000 copies.

Thus Acid Country finds Paul Heaton in a similar quandry to his truculent card cheatin’ roommate Morrissey circa You Are the Quarry. A lauded lyricist long since drifted far from land, from record companies, marketing campaigns, radio buzz lists, and, yes, charts. Between his time with the Housemartins and the Beautiful South, Heaton weighed-in almost 30 UK Top 40 hits, but it’s been five years since he bobbed ‘n’ weaved with Britney and Eminem
