Christine and the Queens wrote Fragments of a Self-Portrait for EGOISTE N°18 – TOME II, MARCH 2018. Comme Si, or As If in English, is the opneing track off of Christine and the Queens' Chris.

Redirected from Christine and The Queens). Héloïse Adelaide Letissier (French pronunciation: ; born 1 June 1988), known professionally as Christine and the Queens or simply Chris, is a French singer, songwriter and producer. Letissier has been signed to the independent record label Because Music since 2012.

At the close of 2016, it was announced that Christine and the Queens’ Chaleur Humaine was the UK’s biggest-selling debut album of the year. It’s worth remembering how unlikely that seemed. We live in an era in which the gatekeepers of mainstream success seem bound to ensure that anything too smart, interesting or strange gets shunted to the margins. This music is an unalloyed jo. hristine and the Queens: Chris album artwork.

Christine and the Queens ’ new album Chris is remarkable for a few reasons, but this is the one that’s sticking with me: It’s impossible to deny the complexity of the person at its center. She uses masculinity like a sledgehammer to enrich her womanhood; she’s a crude, libidinous woman, but her heart is still tender; she has the courage and creativity to make a life for herself outside of the status quo, but she still feels the pain that comes with choosing a path other people don’t understand. The resulting album is an electric blend of unforgettable imagery, emotional depth, and lurid, sizzling pop-funk. Dewy lead single girlfriend lays down the terms of engagement: Chris may not feel like your girlfriend, but she could get used to being called your lover. She’ll leave for an early workout and push you back into bed just when you’re ready to wake up: Came back steaming in sweats in the morning, she pants.
