Cambridge Singers - Be Thou My Vision: Sacred Music by John Rutter flac mp3
Anything John Rutter is truly a gift! His sacred music is just that. If heaven plays music, John Rutter and his singers have a leg-up, in my book, as star performers. The melodies and sheer euphoria felt listening to the beauty and innocence of these gorgeous songs brings joy, tears, rapture to the heart. Listening to John Rutter's music, I feel connected to oneness, and the sense that all is well. His music stirs goodness and love. If you have any interest in religious choral music at all, you must get this album! One of the highlights of my musical life was attending a concert of a University of Maryland choir in which my mom sang, that featured Rutter as a guest conductor. Listening to this album is almost as good!
Most of these have full orchestral accompaniment, as Rutter prefers these versions over those with just organ, but there are also a few a cappella anthems thrown in as well, which sound just as lush and graceful as the orchestral ones. The brief, a cappella God be in my head uses a sixteenth century text and hints at the music used in churches from the same period. EAC extraction logfile from 19. December 2018, 14:40.
