A woman who was influential in jazz music was Bessie Smith, also known as the Empress of the Blues. She lived from 1894-1937. The album focuses on her relationship marred by infidelity. Moreover, the visual album includes many topics and subject matter. Additional notable female composers are listed below. Some are also notable as performers (. Amy Beach and Verdina Shlonsky were noted pianists). For a full list, see List of female composers by birth year.

Composers well known for their choral works wrote organ music, for example Tallis, Byrd and Gibbons. In Germany and Austria, baroque organ music utilized increasing amounts of counterpoint. Organ music in the baroque can be divided into works based on Lutheran chorales (. chorale preludes and chorale fantasias) and those not (. toccatas, fantasias and free preludes). There are marked stylistic differences between the composers of North, South and Central Germany such that further generalisation is inaccurate.

Classical Music Discussion. I've been reorganizing my organ record collection and noticed a very stark omission, I have very little organ music by German Composers that lived and worked/works 1950 and later, it is sort of a blank slate in my collection.

Weckmann: Organ Works, Vo. Wolfgang Zerer Organ. CD: 1 Tracks: 22 Length: 1:09:46. CD 1. Matthias Weckmann Composer. Magnificat in the 2nd Tone Work.

This new collection provides a welcome source for interesting "new" old pieces by female composers spanning four centuries and diverse historical and national styles.

A particularly appetizing album for the lovers of the king of instruments.
