Alexandra Slate is the stage name for Alexandra Seightholm, a Canadian singer. Slate's first recording was her LP Half Full, self-released when she was 16. As a teenager Slate wrote songs and worked in coffeehouses in her hometown Toronto. In 1999 she performed at the Canadian Music Week, which led to a deal with Management Trust, Ltd. She had a side-stage performance at the Lilith Fair in Toronto in August 1999 and performed again at the Canadian Music Week in 2000.

I had no voice two weeks into a four week promotional tour and my nerves were shot from the stress of the travel. I am a terrible flyer, and that’s downplaying it Slate was unable to make certain flights due to anxiety issues and just couldn’t keep up with the intense schedule

Alexandra Slate is an independent pop-rock musician from Toronto, Canada. Her debut album, "Edge of the Girl" was recorded for Hollywood Records, but she was later dropped from the label due to creative differences and it was never properly released. The song "Bad Girl", set to be the album's lead single, was featured in the film "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life" and has since become her most known song. Alexandra Slate is an independent pop-rock musician from Toronto, Canada.
