Country legend(not an exaggeration in classic country circles), Mel Tillis, with his crack band, the Statesiders, is in superb form,on this mid 70's album. During this period (1975), Mel was riding (what seemed like an unstoppable wave of success). The big hits were, "best way I know how"and "woman in the back of my mind. Mel always was the most genial of country artists. A natural comedian, he also appeared on a handful of movies. Later in life, he even tried his hand at a few comedy albums. Growing up in south central Texas in the 70's, he was always my absolute favorite country recording artist. There will never be another quite like Mmmmellll!
