La sinfonia de Maese Pedro. Matrix Ensemble, Robert Ziegler. 4. "Siéntense todos!" Matrix Ensemble, Robert Ziegler. Les Malheurs d'Orphée, opera in 3 acts, Op. 85. 14. Act 1: Choeur des Métiers.

El retablo de maese Pedro (Master Peter's Puppet Show) is a puppet-opera in one act with a prologue and epilogue, composed by Manuel de Falla to a Spanish libretto based on an episode from Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes. The libretto is an abbreviation of chapter 26 of the second part of Don Quixote, with some lines added from other parts of the work

El) Retablo de Maese Pedro. Manuel de Falla Composer. Robert Ziegler Conductor. Samuel Linay (treb) El Trujamán. Adrian Thompson (ten) Maese Pedro. Malcolm Walker (bar) Orphée. Anna Steiger (sop) Eurydice. Paul Harrhy (ten) Le Maréchal, Le Sanglier. Patrick Donnelly Le Charron. Gaynor Morgan Le Renard, La Soeur Jumelle. Patricia Bardon (sop) La Loup, La Soeur Ainée. Susan Bickley (sop) La Soeur Cadette. After this, the real Stravinsky of Renard is a wonderful tonic. His Russian 'barnyard fable' is treated with panache, colour and personality which in a performance such as this simply bursts out of one's loudspeakers.

"Manuel de Falla - El Retablo de Maese Pedro (1923)". Retrieved 25 October 2014. In his years, Montesquiou used his wit to shield himself from sincere emotion, he is remembered as a model for two fictional characters: Jean des Esseintes in Joris-Karl Huysmans' À rebours, the Baron de Charlus in Marcel Proust's À la recherche du temps perdu.

On a trip to the United States in 1922, Darius Milhaud heard "authentic" jazz for the first time, on the streets of Harlem, which left a great impact on his musical outlook. The following year, he completed his composition La création du monde (The Creation of the World), using ideas and idioms from jazz, cast as a ballet in six continuous dance scenes. His most popular works include Le bœuf sur le toit (a ballet which lent its name to the legendary cabaret frequented by Milhaud and other members of Les Six), La création du monde (a ballet for small orchestra with solo saxophone, influenced by jazz), Scaramouche (for saxophone and piano, also for two pianos), and Saudades do Brasil.
